SA MUSIC NEWS WELCOMES CHRISTALL KAY, ETIENNE STEYN & KIDWELL DINGISO TO OUR FAMILY
Christall was born to sing. From the tender age of 7 years she was rehearsing her performances to the inspiration of Olivia-Newton John, Dolly Parton and The Village People.
As a solo artist and songwriter, her music still reflects some of these early influences, particularly, with regard to Christall’s electro dance pop sound which combines with subtle country and rock overtones.
Christall loves the studio and has worked on a number of recording projects which have culminated in her current EP ‘Into the Sunshine’ soon for release through digital sales and on CD.
Etienne Steyn is a South African singer and songwriter who mostly sing in Afrikaans. He spent a large amount of his life growing up in George in the Western Cape province of South Africa. In 2005, Steyn recorded his debut album "Storie van my Hart".
His passion and love for making and performing music drove him to pursue a full time career in music. He has established himself in various musical fields, as solo artist, songwriter, and producer. His latest song writing credit is for South African super star Laurika Rauch. Etienne composed her new smash hit single "As ek eendag oud is".
Kidwell is a mine worker who blesses people with his gospel music. This man has a golden voice. Kidwell (36) of Carletonville, west of Joburg has dedicated his life to God after surviving a car crash in 2006. “I had to give thanks to God for saving my life, and that’s when I released my first album Ngiyabonga,” he said.
So far, he has released four gospel albums. “I am not singing gospel for money, but to show gratitude to God.” Kidwell said his latest album; Linamandla (It Has Power) took him a month to put together.
He said the album is about healing broken souls and telling people not to give up on God, because He will provide for them when the time is right.
