Nomad Bistro & Bar relaunches to bring you live entertainment
With a swanky new name to go with the newly launched weekly event nights, Nomad Bistro & Bar, formerly known as Nomad Bistro Fusion, located on 33 Waterkant Street in Cape Town CBD, has relaunched with a bang. Wednesday, 8 February 2017 saw an influx of socialites testing out the new concept.
Mohit Sureka, Owner of Nomad Bistro & Bar explains that the name change was simply the next step in the evolution of the bistro. “We are not just a restaurant, we do offer delicious bistro food and tapas that reflects casual dining in a sophisticated setting during the day but we’ve moved into the nightlife scene with our exceptional drink specials and new weekly events with local DJ’s and musicians.” Sureka owns Nomad Bistro & Bar together with Sunil Krishnan, who already has five well-known authentic Indian restaurants under his belt.
Thursday saw the likes of Herschelle Gibbs, Soli Philanders and Jaye Keys at the relaunch and Hendricks Gin prepared the perfect G&T’s and Patron Tequila Margaritas were mixed up for welcome drinks.
Astrafunk and the Space Cats filled the house with encapsulating funk music to create the ultimate atmosphere for guests to party the night away.
Hosting weekly events on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the relaunch was just a taste of what’s to come. On Thursdays ‘Live at Nomad’ takes over with live entertainment from local artists and bands. ‘Friday Feels Nomad’ kick off with deep house music, with well-known DJ’s to set the tone for the weekend and Saturdays see ‘Sessions at Nomad’ with local DJ’s from 9pm to 1am.
On all three nights, guests can indulge in the tapas special of five tapas for R225 and Fridays and Saturdays cocktails are thrown around at R70 for two. Signature beer and wine popsicles are also available as an added extra treat.
SA Music News & Lifestyle Magazine would like to thank Nomad Bistro & Bar for hosting us for the evening, and for Red Carpet Concepts for extending us the invitation to attend the relaunch of Nomad Bistro & Bar.
It was a jam packed evening with the cream of the crop and with celebs such as Herschelle Gibbs, Soli Philanders and Jaye Keys, we were being spoiled with the Hendriks Gin and Patron Tequila Margaritas. Yes, I even tried them myself, and guys, I must admit, I have never been much of a "G&T or Margaritas fan", but I have been converted, and the slice of cucumber in the G&T was amazing, really lifted the flavours, and not to mention the yummie Patron Tequila Margaritas, WOW, I AM SOLD!
The food was absolutely amazing, compliments to the chefs and well done to the owner, Mohit Sureka, you did an AMAZING job and well done to your staff and everyone involved. Will definitely see you guys again soon.
